Amazon Kindle in Latin America?
I am interested in buying an Amazon Kindle (GEN past, international) that I had read "Connectivity global wireless. I live in Lima, Peru (west coast of Latin America) and wanted to know if it is true that if I can still bring U.S. access the Amazon store to buy and download eBooks (I checked their coverage map and said my area had EDGE / GPRS speeds (no 3G)). Also, if this is possible, I have to pay an "extra" to access these services? If the Kindle does not meet these requierements dear, what e-book reader from others with similar accessibility to your store I buy? (Unfortunately, I read on www.cnet.com to the Barnes and Noble Nook does not work abroad)
If you are registered from Peru to their downloads of books, wikipedia, etc will be free, but the books will be slightly more expensive, partly to compensate for this. You also have more limited selection, as they have to agree with the editors in a country or regional basis. If you look at the Kindle store, while the firm from its current location must be able to get an idea of cost and availability. If you register as a user of U.S. would require a U.S. credit card and address and you will have access to U.S. material, but it would be a rate of wirelessly downloading (which always can be downloaded free of charge via USB)
